For thousands of years, Nisenan Maidu people inhabited the region where the Maidu Museum & Historic Site sits. The site is a sacred space to learn about Native California history, traditional practices, contemporary culture and powerful stories of resilience. MMHS offers guided museum and petroglyph tours, workshops for all ages, celebratory Native events, art exhibitions, interactive experiences, and other family-friendly offerings.
