Free Museum Day is over but that doesn't mean the fun is! Many of our museums have planned activities for museum week, You can check out all those events below. Support your Sacramento area museums all year round!

Free Museum Day isn't just about the amazing museums in the region! We have partnered with local restaurants to give exclusive discounts to participants of Free Museum Day. Just show an "I ♥ Sac Museums" sticker at participating restaurants on February 1st (you can pick one up at any participating museum on February 1st). Check out the list of participating restaurants below. 

Looking for a way to get around to all of the museums? You are in luck! We have partnered with SacRT to provide free rides for Free Museum Day. 

If you are coming from outside Sacramento to experience everything the Sacramento Area Museums have to offer, we are also partnering with Amtrak to provide 45% off tickets to Sacramento on February 1st, 2020. Learn more below.

Exhibit Opening: American Expressions/African Roots

Born as Mark Teemer in Sacramento, Akinsanya Kambon is a former Marine, Black Panther, and art professor. Stricken with polio as a child, he turned to drawing for comfort, and ultimately his therapy. He recalls in his adolescence frequent visits to the Crocker Art Museum, which fascinated him and showed him the human potential in creating art.
