Free Shuttle Buses are provided during Sacramento Museum Day, courtesy of Umpqua Bank and the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau. Handicapped accessible services are also available. These buses are provided as a public service to help make your Museum Day experience more enjoyable.

Free Shuttle Buses originate from The California Museum, located at 10th and O Streets in Downtown Sacramento. Four different routes serve most participating museums (note that shuttle service is not offered to every participating museum this day; past event attendees will note the Aerospace Museum and Discovery Museum Science & Space Center are not on a shuttle route for 2010). For specific routes and museums located on those routes, see route details below.

Shuttle buses are staffed by Step-On Guides provided courtesy of Umpqua Bank and the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau. These guides will narrate the route, pointing out interesting sites along the way and helping answer your questions. This helps free up bus drivers so they may pay attention to the roadways.

Four specific Museum Day Shuttle Bus Routes will be operating this day. Colorful, temporary signs will be posted at stopping points. All routes come together at The California Museum, at the corner of 10th and O Streets in Downtown Sacramento, so we recommend that you park in the vicinity and begin your day here! Since automobile congestion can be a challenge during Sacramento Museum Day, consider riding Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail (regular RT fares apply) to the Archives Plaza station, immediately adjacent to The California Museum (or continue on to the Sacramento Valley Station and Old Sacramento). Then, step aboard the free Museum Day Shuttles!
